BOOK REVIEW – My Horizontal Life

A COLLECTION OF ONE NIGHT STANDS

Genre: Humor, Biography, Autobiography
SL mark: 3.8/5

Last week recommendation was ”5 Love Languages” by Gary Chapman, I encourage you one more time to go and read that brilliant book.

This week’s recommendation is not in the same genre as the above mentioned book, it’s different.

What is it about?

”My horizontal life – a collection of one night stands” is Chelsea Chandler’s collection of stories, stories about her – guess it? – night stands. They are ranging from having sex with ”black man” with an extremely large penis to one night stands with guys whose penises are too small. Besides, she was often accompanied by her friends – ”partners in crime”.

It is full of humoristic stories about situations you can’t (or can?) imagine. Also, her hilarious and honest style of writing we’ll definitely brighten up your day.

As we read in one review of this book and it is well said – My Horizontal Life is one guilty pleasure you won’t be ashamed in the morning.

In case you are looking for next book too read, you can stop now and read ”My horizontal life – a collection of one night stands.”. If you are not easily offended and you can manage reading some ”harsh” writing (swearing, offensive descriptions,…). To sum up, we think you will love this book, just like we did.(amazon.com)Spices of Lust - Book Review - Chelsea - Handler - My Horizontal Life - Book(amazon.com)

Finally, here are some quotes we loved:

“I don’t like the word ‘alcoholic’. I like to think of myself as an advanced drinker.”

“There are two kinds of people I don’t trust: people who don’t drink and people who collect stickers.”

“My mother told me that life isn’t always about pleasing yourself and that sometimes you have to do things for the sole benefit of another human being. I completely agreed with her, but reminded her that that was what blow jobs were for.”

“I never say the things I really want to. If I did, I’d have no friends.”
