A real sex oasis to add to your bucket list.
At the moment of writing this, we are 10976 m/ 36010 ft above, in the plane, flying from Venice to Newark. While Leja is sleeping next to me, I’m trying to put a couple of sentences together, but my mind persistently wanders off to our next vacation.
It is not the first time that I am dreaming and making plans for the next vacation, just after this one ended. One of the life cycles, I guess.
But, it is what it is, from marvelous Croatia straight back to reality.
Another thing that is going around my head is how life is funny and how opening one door often leads to opening another. That is exactly how today’s interview happened. Some time ago, more precisely, 3 months ago we reached out to Lady Pim on Instagram.
I’ve been following her for some time. And that exact day, it just clicked to me – it would be awesome to do Q&A with her. And eventually – we did it!
Not even a week after we published the Q&A with her, another door opened. Well, not door exactly, but we got an email from Fatima Mechtab. That email brings us here.
Oasis Aqualounge
Fatima is Marketing Director and Event Producer for Oasis Aqualounge, the first and only sex club in Toronto and in Canada.
Since 2018. she is also the owner of the club. Fatima reached out to us, asking if we would be interested in an interview (podcast really, but that is going to happen in the future), which we were (hell yeah).
“This can’t be better!”, I said to Leja. We always had a wish to visit a club like that but never actually did it.
So somehow this sounded like a great opportunity to find out more and there is no better person to tell us about it. I won’t be writing more about Fatima and Oasis Aqualounge, because she did an awesome job and really went out of her way to explain everything to you and to us.
And yes, Oasis Aqualounge is now on our bucket list.

Q&A – Fatima Mechtab
Hey there, glad to have you here with us. Can you tell us a bit about yourself and about Oasis Aqualounge?
Oasis Aqualounge is a water-themed, clothing-optional sex club for consenting adults 19+. Oasis Aqualounge is open 7 days a week from 11am-3am and we are located in the heart of downtown Toronto. Our facilities include a year round, outdoor heated pool, 4 floors of lay spaces, a hot tub, dry sauna, 2 licensed bars, complimentary locker and towel service and a large roster of events; all entertainment is included in the cost of admission.
I am the Marketing Director and Event Producer for Oasis Aqualounge. I also recently became an owner of the company, at the end of March 2018. My responsibilities are within the realm of marketing, events, social media, promotions and public relations.
In addition to the events that I personally produce, I oversee all programming that is done by those on our marketing team. I also produce porn shoots, that happen inside the club, along with my videographer. In April 2018, three of our porn films were nominated at the Toronto International Porn Festival.
We didn’t win but it was an honor to be nominated. I was also spoke on a panel discussion about ‘Ethical Porn.’ We currently have an extensive Porn Hub channel and I am always looking for couples who want to explore the fantasy of creating porn.
Why is Oasis Aqualounge a place to visit? (apart from being only sex club in Canada)
Oasis Aqualounge embraces a non-judgmental, normalized and shame-free approach to sexuality. We want our guests to discover and embrace their satisfied sexual selves.
We believe that sexual expression is wonderful and healthy for all body types, races, and orientations. Mainstream society portrays only a small fraction of humans as sexual beings and we believe this is a limiting perspective. Regardless of your physicality, everyone has the right to experience and enjoy pleasure.
Since 2010, women have been at the forefront of the business. This has extended from our admission policy to our events, guest interests, staffing, and ownership. We believe that our current society stifles sexuality, particularly for women.
We want to encourage women to move past limiting beliefs and body consciousness. For women, we offer a safe, judgment-free environment where they can explore their sexual curiosities with opportunities to interact with other women, couples and single men, depending on the event.
Who are the most common visitors, single people or couples?
Oasis Aqualounge is primarily a couples club. We specialize in couples relationship enhancement; offering the chance to people to connect intimately and explore their fantasies and desires. From Thursday-Sunday (Sunday 11am-8pm), we are exclusive to single women and couples.
Tuesdays, Wednesdays and most Sunday evenings, we welcome single men to attend.
We also permit single men who are between 19-35 years old to our weekly student night; Sass After Class.
Would you recommend going to a sex club and why? Are there any benefits one/ couple can get from that?
I absolutely recommend visiting a sex club. As an individual, seeing authentic sexual pleasure between a variety of different body types has helped me to normalize sexuality as a healthy and fun way to connect with your partner(s) and even yourself.
It has allowed me to love my own body and it has instilled a sense of confidence, as far as learning to receive (and deserve) sexual pleasure and gratification.
For couples looking to spice things up, sex clubs offer the chance to break the monotony of a routine and try something different. It can really provide a chance for couples to bond over sexy, shared experiences and also to open their eyes to different forms of sexual expression.
We recommend Oasis Aqualounge as a unique kind of date night.
Visiting a sex club was always a wish for my wife and me, but we never actually went to one. Do you have any tips or advice for the first-timers?
It is always best to manage your expectations. It’s great to have some fantasies as far as what you may both want to explore but it is also good to go with the flow and to see where the visit takes you.
If you are a shy couple, perhaps start with observing around you. We offer regularly occurring ‘Spectator Sex’ shows, where volunteer couples perform for an appreciative audience. It is also important to discuss your limits and boundaries (ahead of time), so that you arrive with a comfortable understanding of how you want to engage in the space.
It’s also good to keep in mind that Oasis is a very social environment. Along with lovers, friendships are also created here and the clothing-optional vibe really facilitates as a sense of openness. Allow yourselves to leave the outside world and it’s judgments behind in order to embrace a sex and body-positive atmosphere where you can fully express your sexual selves.
We also offer an event called First Taste, which allows women and couples to have a tour and Q&A session with our event host, at a reduced rate. We offer this on the 1st and 3rd Thursday of every month and also again on the 2nd Saturday of every month.
Can you come and casually attend/ participate in the events without having sex? If you could explain that in a few words. I think many people who would like to go to places like yours, don’t actually have a clue what is going on and how?
Everything at Oasis is optional; we provide a sexually-charged, clothing optional atmosphere but how you decide to participate is completely up to you. For example, many couples who identify as swingers know of the club but we welcome a variety of relationships; you do not need to be a swinger, nor are you ever expected to play with others.
Our events provide entertainment and sometimes education with a chance for guests to mix and mingle without the pressure of feeling forced to find a play partner. We definitely encourage people to observe and/or participate in our events at their comfort level. It is a great way to meet new people and to strike up friendly conversations.
However, there are lots of spaces within the venue so participating is not necessary. We want to provide opportunities to facilitate a (social or sexual) connection but nothing is ever mandatory.
I saw your event calendar is filled up. What kind of events do you produce?
I produce a wide number of events on our calendar, including all of our Saturday evening themes. Some of my favorites are;
- Sex School held on the 1st Friday of every month. It is an educational feature where educators within the sex-positive community present on various topics within the realm of sexuality and kink.
- Money Shot held on the 4th Tuesday of every month. This event hosts live porn shoots, live cam models and/or erotic photography. It is great for those who want to indulge in their voyeurist side.
- Swordplay; held bi-monthly on the last Sunday. This event welcomes queer and bisexual men and the people who love them
- Sapphic Aquatica; held bi-monthly on the last Sunday. This is an exclusive bathhouse event for queer women and tran folks.
- Polyamory Matchmaking, which is held a few times throughout the year. This event welcomes those who identify as polyamorous and also those who are curious to learn more about polyamory
- Unicorn Night; our most popular Saturday night event which occurs on the 2nd Saturday, monthly. This event welcomes bisexual women who want to connect with other women and/or other couples. This event draws a huge crowd of both single women and couples looking to play with a third.
- Aside from the events that I produce, another hugely popular event is called ‘DTF,’ which occurs on the 1st Tuesday of every month. It is more women who enjoy the company of multiple partners, as well as gangbangs. This is an important event-not only because it is a lot of fun-but because it also encourages a woman’s right to explore her sexuality in a non-judgment and supportive environment.
In addition to events, we also offer weekly Sybian rides and weekly yoga classes, which are offered to both singles and couples.
There are so many events to choose from and we try our best to provide themes that people are interested in exploring. All of our entertainment, education and/or special features are always included in the price
