Single column tie knot is the first and one of the most important knots you have to learn.
And that’s why you should take all the time you need to master it. It is one of few knots that are ”foundation” in your bondage learning journey.
Whatever you are going to do, later on, you are going to use a single column tie knot often.
Also, (if you didn’t already) make yourself familiar with BDSM and read our bondage guide to find out which bondage rope we are using.
Single column tie
Let’s keep it simple. We recorded a video and edited it so all the steps all already pointed throughout it. If something is not clear or you have any questions – we are here (it is our first recording and editing so please have that in mind). 🙂
How to do a single column tie knot?
- Double the rope at the middle of the length
- After that, at one end (upper) you’ll have a bight, and the other end is what we call a working end
- Place the rope in a pistol grip (you can do it without, but it will make your life easier)
- Make 2 wraps around (notice the direction I started wrapping in – wrong! Start from under the hand (in this case) and you’ll see why pistol grip is good)
- Take the bight and pull it under two wraps
- Tighten the knot in the direction of the knot, making sure there is a ”finger” of space left between the finger and the rope
- Take the working end and twist it above the center of the knot
- Grab the bight again and pull it under the loop that you created with a working end
- Again, tighten the rope in the same direction
- TA-DA! You made your first single column tie knot! Congrats!
Just one last note – be safe when practicing bondage because serious injuries could happen. Remind yourself about no rope zones and about general safety philosophies in BDSM.
