We live in a world that’s full of ”new, unique and different” content and inventions of every kind – it’s so full. Crazy full. The amount of fullness makes me think it’s impossible to invent something new and cool. ,

Something people will want.

Want to turn ordinary into extraordinary? 👇

And in all desire to invent the next wanted thing, this world came up with things like crocs shoes, hoverboards, and tote bags.

All are horrendous.

(before you start defending tote bags – know that their production process is an environmental bomb: according to research – ”an organic cotton tote needs to be used 20,000 times to offset its overall impact of production. That equates to daily use for 54 years — for just one bag.” )

Everybody seems to try and break through the noise with their new unique product.

But not everyone succeeds.

It was just another day

I was going on and about my day, you know – the usual stuff: Duo Lingo, read a book for 30 minutes in my Audible app, made my morning smoothie, ate it and decided to take a quick 5 on the couch before opening my laptop.

Opened my Instagram app and then I saw it – the Snail Vibe. What in the holy fuck is this? Snail? Vibe? Snail vibe?

I facepalmed myself so hard I left a mark on my forehead: ”Please, let us not live through some shit like Crocs are one more time.”

Facing the Snail reality

After I calmed myself down, I Googled Snail Vibe. I had to thoroughly examine what it is, and I did it with all of my fingers crossed.

Admittedly, this thing definitely sparked my interest.

Luka holding Snail Vibe dual vibrator

After exchanging several emails with Charlie from Luxe Vibes, we agreed on a review. She is going to send us the Snail vibe and we will deliver our judgment.

What is it?

Stick with me until the end to find out if this is just another try to break through the noise or it is an innovative concept that challenges the design norms while delivering mind-boggling, body-shaking orgasms.

I’ll also cover the basics, features, how to use it as well as some additional information. This is actually the first review in which I’m going to try and talk about how this toy might be for bigger folks, how it may be for folks with disabilities, and how it may be for older folks.

But first, a quick recap:

Snail Vibe basics

So Snail Vibe is an attempt to update or better said, redesign the classic rabbit vibrator.

The classic rabbit vibrator features a vibrator – the insertable part and ears (or just one ear) which are supposed to massage the clitoris. Now, if you ever owned a rabbit vibrator or vibrator, you probably know that they have many flaws and while the idea sounds phenomenal, the reality is different.

Some rabbits don’t fit our anatomy and some rabbits are just poorly designed.

The only rabbit that can fulfill the promise is We-Vibe Nova 2 and what they did are a fully adjustable toy – adjustable vibrator and adjustable ear part. And by doing that they eliminated a big part of the problem, although it still does not match every body.

Snail Vibe’s designers implemented a spiral design that ensures that the part that stimulates the clitoris stays in constant contact with it, while you or your partner thrust the toy.

Going back to the rabbit vibes, ALL of the rabbit vibes lose contact with the clitoris as you thrust it in and out.

Snail VIbe movement

(click on it to see the movement)

The marketing copy on their site states that with Snail Vibe you get ‘’vibrating power of a wand, the insertion depth of a dildo, and the dual stimulation of a rabbit vibrator’’ – which honestly sounds amazing, however, if life taught me one thing, that is to never try and include everything in one thing.

Instead of making one amazing thing, you make 3 average things.

You’ll find out soon if that is the case with Snail Vibe.

Snail in a box

This Snail came in a regular cardboard box – a thin cardboard box, not the fancy, sturdy boxes We-Vibe for example uses.

Front side of the Snail Vibe's box

I’m personally not a fan of these lousy boxes but I guess it’s okay if it serves the purpose.

Illustration on the side of the box

In the box – the usual stuff + a discreet storage case.

Snail vibrator boxed

The storage case is a nice add-on. I love those. Even though we clean toys BEFORE and after using them, I think it is still nice to include something like the storage bag.

Snail Vibe material

Snail Vibe is made of body-safe medical grade silicone.

I’m not gonna praise that because using body-safe silicone should be a STANDARD among sex toy manufacturers – and sadly it often isn’t.

Snail’s features

It features 2 motors, one in the bulb that rests against the clitoris and the second one in the insertable tip. Now, according to the information on the box, the clitoris motor is 4 times stronger than the other one. We’ll see about that soon enough.

Motors are independent, each with 5 different speed settings and 5 vibration modes. I did the math and that amounts to more than 600 different combinations (25*25=625) and while this sounds like a WOW thing, the reality is that you won’t be trying all 600 of them.

Or maybe you will and in the case you do please let me know so I can buy you a drink.

The toy is controlled with the buttons on the second bulb – there are two rows of buttons, each for one of the motors.

If I would to really nitpick the downsides, I could say that not having a ”-” button sucks because you have to go through all 5 modes before reaching the first one again.

But since it’s only 5 modes, it’s not that bad.

Snail Vibe’s measured sound level is <45db, which means not one thing to me because I’m not a sound meter. But in layman’s terms, the toy is on the quieter side if you use one motor. However, if you decide to go full power on both motors, it’s not as quiet and someone might hear it (partners, roommates, parents,…)

They wrote the toy is reassuringly quiet – please – I’d like to take a moment and comment on that – what in the sex toy god that means?

It’s past time sex toy manufacturers and companies stopped using vague descriptions which mean nothing, add no value, and are totally ridiculous. I’ll talk about poor marketing practices soon but for now, I asked them about this. I’m really curious if they’ll answer with a comment.

Reassuringly quiet. Hahahaha. What a joke.

Charging Snail Vibe

It will take you approximately 2 hours to charge your Snail Vibe and you’ll get approximately one hour of play – it all depends on what modes you’re going to be using.

Size and shape

Snail Vibe’s insertable length ranges from 35mm/1.4” to 140mm/5.”, while insertable width is 35mm/1.4”.

The two bulbs, or if we are going to talk in snail terms – the two shells are 2’’ wide (clitoris shell) and 1.5” (control shell) wide. Shell with the buttons comfortably fits my hand and its design makes using buttons easy.

As you had a chance to see above, when you insert the toy, the other shell kinda unfolds in the direction of the control shell. The clitoris shell unfolds toward the other but as you insert the toy, the clitoris shell stays in the same position, applying the same pressure on the clitoris due to the spring design in its body.

Snail Vibe's clitors shell

Although I only tried it with Leja and the toy fit her anatomy, meaning the clitoris shell was always touching her clitoris, I would say that this design (unfolding, size of the clitoris shell, spring design) would fit the majority of different bodies that measure 2’’ or less – from the vagina to clitoris. Please correct me if I’m wrong.

The Snail vibe also boasts a longer insertable length. Let’s see how they do in that field…

I spent some time researching 6 of the ”most popular” rabbit vibrators, comparing their insertable length to Snail Vibe’s insertable length.

Here’s what I found out:

Insertable length comparison among rabbit vibrators

I found out that Snail Vibe has the longest insertable length among rabbit vibrators listed above., making it a great choice if that’s important to you.

This is how Snail Vibe looks while inside (when fully inserted)

I fucked my partner with the Snail…. Vibe

This was a really fun and sexy experience. Not often do we have something to try as interesting as Snail Vibe is.

It took me no time to figure out how to use Snail Vibe. It was pretty simple and straightforward.

First, we tried using it without lube. She was wet so it kinda made sense but soon we realized that’s going to hurt. The constant turning/rubbing of the clitoris shell against her clitoris started to be unpleasant and even hurtful to a certain point. I pulled out our lube and generously lubed the toy. Now, it was okay.

Holding the toy while thrusting it in was easy due to the size of the control shell. Even controlling the buttons was easy and convenient in a way.

Snail Vibe on a living room table

Just in case you’re wondering – yes, you have to thrust the toy, it is not a self thrusting toy.

Leja really enjoyed the depth and how motors are. We agreed that the internal motor is buzzy, while the external, clitoris motor is deep and rumbly.

Leja needs clitoris stimulation to come so she really appreciated (and liked) the outside clitoris motor.  I started with low speed setting since she is always more sensitive at the beginning, and while the vibrations were rumbly, they weren’t aggressive.

And usually later, when she’s aroused, she likes the power so when I increased the speed settings to 5, she orgasmed hard.

Snail Vibe passed the test.

We came to a conclusion that the clitoris shell could accommodate folks who don’t like strong vibrations but can also accommodate folks who only like/need strong vibrations to come.

Also, the clitoris shell is big enough to massage not only clitoris but also parts of the vulva. Leja really liked that and I really enjoyed seeing her squirm and orgasm from pleasure.

We did not try to use Snail Vibe anally. I think that if you wanted to, you could, just be careful as it is not meant to be used that way.

Additional information about Snail Vibe

This part is a novelty in our reviews and here, I’m going to try and interpret the information for folks who are often not mentioned in online reviews.

If I’m wrong, again, please correct me.

Snail Vibe for bigger folks

Although Snail Vibe advertises itself as a part wand, that is not because of the long handle wands have but because of the large stimulating bulb. Meaning that if you have a belly or larger breast, reaching down to use Snail Vibe might not be so easy since there is no handle that allows for father reach.

Snail Vibe for older folks

I must say that I don’t think they paid enough attention to marginalized folks. Snail Vibe could be more accessible with just a few simple changes. If the buttons were differently colored and with a backlight function, this would be a completely different story.

Snail’s buttons are in the same color as the toy is, and I even had to stop and aim in a half-lit room.

Buttons used to control Snail Vibe's motors

Also, the charging port is almost invisible.

Snail Vibe's almost invisible charging port

Snail Vibe is not the lightest toy there is – it weighs slightly above 300g or 10.58 oz.

If we talk about using the toy, the control shell makes it pretty easy to hold. Using/thrusting the toy can be done by moving the whole hand rather than only thrusting with the wrist movement, which is a positive thing if you have limited hand mobility or arthritis.

Also, the clitoral shell’s vibrations are not felt so much in the hand, but the internal motor’s vibrations are.

Snail Vibe for folks with disabilities

Since Snail’s motor’s vibrations range from very light to strong, I’d say that it could accommodate folks who experience both increased and decreased sensation.

While I can’t 100% recommend it for folks who experience increased sensation since it’s hard for me to tell how sensitive they actually are, I’m definitely certain that it could accommodate folks who experience decreased sensation (even the toy is completely smooth with almost no texture).

If you experience increased sensation, using plenty of lube might help you enjoy Snail Vibe.

If you fatigue easily, Snail Vibe could be a good choice for you since you might use it without having your hand in the air (it can be resting on your leg, but moving at the same time – if that makes sense).

You could also hold the toy in place and use it that way – it’s pretty amazing.

And as I wrote above, using/thrusting the toy can be done by moving the whole hand rather than only thrusting with the wrist movement, which is a positive thing if you have limited hand mobility or arthritis.

Snail Vibe for transgender & gender-diverse folks

My wish was to include information on how this toy would work for transgender and gender-diverse folks but this is far out of my scope of knowledge, so if someone would like to pitch in, please do!

Side note

Let me know if I overlooked something or gave the wrong advice, please and thanks.

Grand finale

Snail Vibe was a great toy to test out and play with it. Aside from strikingly unusual design, I really liked Snail because of several different reasons.

Design is unusual but it definitely works. The clitoral shell always stayed in contact with the clitoris and provided deep and rumbly vibrations Leja really (REALLY) liked. It provided both light and strong deep vibrations.

The range was perfect for her clitoris.

Snail Vibe in the hands of my partner

I also loved that Snail can be used in more than one way. Both motors are independent so you can play with that or you can just hold the toy in place and enjoy the vibrations.

The other thing that I liked, that is worth noting, is the decently long insertable part. I switched from teasing her with the clitoris shell to fucking her with the insertable part. And since the part is long, I managed to do those deep and long strokes I know she likes.

There are some things I didn’t appreciate – like making small changes that would make a difference, especially for marginalized folks. I also think marketing failures like writing ”reassuringly quiet” – are completely unnecessary. It would be so much better and HONEST If they wrote ”our toy is so fucking rumbly and strong, that it was impossible to make it whisper quiet.”

All in all, if you like constant dual stimulation, rumbly vibes, and toys that can be used solo and with a partner – I can recommend this toy to you.

If we lived in a different era where keeping toys on a shelf in the living room was accepted, Snail Vibe would be an exquisite conversational piece.

And similar to Da Vinci’s Mona Lisa, Snail’s design also has a function.

This crazy toy will cost you $160 and you can get it at The Sex Shed. If you decide to go for it, you can use the discount code WELCOME11, which will get you 11% off.
