The ancient saying goes ”For a good and prosperous year, stick a plug up your butt and turn it on so it vibrates” – and that is exactly what we did.

I totally made up the saying but I think it makes a good opening sentence. Comment below if I was right. 🙂

The review you are reading is a review of a toy named Doro Plus, which is not a review we initially had to do. The initial review was of the toy named Doro.

When we opened Doro, unfortunately, the first thing we noticed is that the toy is not anal-safe.

That is because the toy’s base is not flared enough and the toy could easily slip inside your ass and you would need to go to the ER in order to get it out.

You would not die, at least the butt plug would not kill you – embarrassment possibly would.

Promtly, we emailed Honey Play Box, explaining what is the issue and letting them know we are not feeling comfortable reviewing and recommending the toy to our readers – and what happened next is really fucking A-M-A-Z-I-N-G.

They took Doro off the site until they redesign it so it is safe. Sometime later, Doro Plus came out, and guess what, Doro Plus has a base that is flared enough and that is safe for use.

Doro and Doro Plus

Clap clap clap to Honey Play Box. I’m really satisfied and happy with how they treated and solved this problem and I hope more companies would follow their steps.

We live in an era where quantity is more important than quality which results in a lot of new, different products coming out and unfortunately, not all of them are good and more importantly, safe.

So as we previously established, Doro Plus is a butt plug, a remote-controlled vibrating butt plug.

Doro Plus and a remote control

To me, remote-controlled toys naturally have a better, more entertaining appeal. But before we dive deep into that feature of this cute butt plug, here’s The Verdict, if you don’t feel like reading the whole thing.

The Verdict

Doro Plus packaging

Doro Plus came in a sturdy cardboard box, cute and consistent with Honey Play Box branding. Nothing special but I did like that box is good and not a cheap box.

You can find the usual stuff in the box: toy, remote control, user manual, and charger.

The important thing to note is that the toy came in a plain cardboard box, discreet as it can be.

Materials

Doro Plus has two different parts: the body and the base.  The body is made from body-safe silicone and the base is made of ABS.

Silicone is a non-porous material, which means that it won’t harbor bacteria or other germs like some other materials might.

It’s also hypoallergenic, so it’s a good option for people with sensitive skin.

So that is good, it passes the material check.

One cute detail I liked is the fact that the tip of the plug is seethrough and you can see another tip inside.

That does not affect use at all but it makes for a nice design addition.

Doro Plus size and shape

The simplest way to describe Doro Plus is to say that it is thin and long.

At its widest point, it measures 1.36’’ while the total length is 4.73’’.

I would not categorize it as a small plug since the length is decent and it might be too much for some. (for example, if you are looking for the first butt plug, maybe you should consider this or this).

On the other hand, Doro Plus is a thin butt plug.

The tip is pointy, like with most butt plugs, which helps with easier insertion.

Features and using

Doro Plus features 10 different vibration modes and a remote control.

The remote is small and easy to hold, with a simple button layout that makes it easy to use. It’s also wireless, which means you can use it from a distance if you’d like.

There are no different speed settings, just different vibration modes. Out of 10 different vibration modes, we liked some, and some we did not.

I always preferred ones that gradually go up or down rather than ones that abruptly change the pace – but that is just me.

The ones that abruptly change the style or pace can be interesting to use on your partner especially if you’re into long teasing sessions.

Doro’s vibrations are more on the buzzy side (vs the rumbly side).

To use vibrations, you have to press the button on the butt plug and the button on the remote.

Once it is on, use the other button on the remote to cycle through the modes.

Doro Plus Remote

The buttons on the remote are responsive and the toy itself is very quiet, so you don’t have to worry about being overheard.

Noise level is below 50db which compares to Nova 2 and Snail Vibe and those two we consider to be quiet toys.

Cleaning and charging

Cleaning Doro+ is super easy, simply wash it with soap and water, or use a toy cleaner if you prefer.

It’s also waterproof, so you can clean it thoroughly under the tap if you’d like.

The charger is magnetic which might be beneficial to folks having dexterity issues.

Charging takes about two hours to charge fully, and it will last for about an hour of continuous use.

Additional information

As with most butt plugs, using them require some hand dexterity and strength – to push them in. You also need to be able to reach your ass comfortably in order to get it in. Or you can have your partner do it for you.

Hands capabilities are also needed to hold and use the remote control. The buttons are easily distinguished and pressed.

Should you buy Doro Plus?

Yes, you should, if you’re looking for are looking for a butt plug that has something more to offer – in this case, remote-controlled vibrations.

If you’re adventurous like we are, that opens a world of possibilities such as kinky visits to the cinema or a busy restaurant or bar.

It also gives you the chance to tease your partner by playing with different vibrations modes.

The remote control is also quite interesting if you are a solo player since you can easily masturbate with other toys and also change the vibrations in the plug.

Should you get it if this is your first butt plug – maybe.

If you never inserted anything up your ass and are not familiar with the sensation and different sizes, maybe opt for the small B-Vibe Snug Plug ($47) or the visually interesting Gvibe Gplug Twist ($29).

The affordable option for beginners would be LoveLife Explore Pleasure Plug which is only $32.

If you tried some kind of anal penetration/insertion and would like to maybe to a step up, definitely consider Doro Plus.

Price-wise it is only a step up from the mentioned butt plugs and it comes with a cool remote control feature.
