How I tested LELO Hugo 2?
I tried out the LELO Hugo 2 quite a bit – it ended up in my ass 12 times. Out of those, I used it alone 7 times, and 3 times we tried it together. We also looked up what others had to say about the toy and added their thoughts to this review. Additionally, this is just one of several sex toy reviews we’ve written over the past few years.
Review in short
Things I liked
I loved LELO Hugo 2 vibrations (the strength, the range). I loved the app. I loved the size and shape.
Things I disliked
Although justified, LELO Hugo 2’s price point might be steep for some folks.
Additionally, size, while great for beginners and folks looking for an average-sized toy, might not be enough for folks looking for a BIG toy.
Key takeaway
LELO Hugo 2 is a fun, versatile, high-quality prostate massager any prostate player would enjoy. See it here.
Box contents and unboxing
LELO Hugo 2 came in the box with a charging cable, small lubricant pouch, user manual and a black drawstring bag.
LELO Hugo 2 size, weight, and material
It is a beginner-to-average-sized prostate vibrator. It measures 4.09 x 4.2 x 1.6 in (104 x 107 x 41 mm), with 2.83 in (72 mm) being insertable size. Additionally, Hugo 2 weighs 4.27 oz (121g).
At first glance, LELO Hugo 2 is a perfect travel-sized toy with plenty of reach to the prostate. The prostate is located about 2 inches inside the rectum, which means 2.83 in of insertable length is more than enough to reach the sweet spot.
The great thing about the design I noticed is the flexible perineum arm. This feature will allow a better fit for more people.
LELO Hugo 2 features
It features two strong motors, one in the prostate arm and the second one in the perineum arm. As soon as I turned it on, a smile instantly appeared on my face. Vroom, vroom. Powerful vibrations.
The vibrations, especially the lower and mid levels lean towards the rumbly side. The high levels are strong and powerful.
Hugo 2 can be controlled via the button on the toy and via the mobile app.
Should you decide to NOT use the app, you will only have 4 vibration modes available. Should you decide to use the app, you will have 10 different vibration modes available.
The app will also allow you to set the intensity meter, on a scale from 1 to 10.
I highly recommend going for the app (more on that below).
The variety of choices made me happy. I was sure not all will be to my liking but a big part of enjoying the toy for me is exploring different modes and different intensity settings in different scenarios.
Thanks to the app, the toy can be 100% hands-free which is cool and I can’t wait to test it out.
LELO Hugo 2 is also waterproof and comes with a 1-year warranty.
LELO Hugo 2 app control
Naturally, being the tech nerd I am, I jumped to the app.
Connecting the app and the toy posed no challenge and everything was up and running in no time. Sweet.
Once in, there are two options to choose from: Play and Settings.
The play option takes you to another screen where you can choose between Screwing mode, Shaking mode, and Manual mode.
The difference between the 3 is how you make the toy vibrate. In Screwing mode, moving your phone left or right is going to increase the intensity. In Shaking mode, shaking the phone will increase the intensity. And in Manual mode, you will set the desired vibration modes and press Start and the toy will start working.
The app is easy to use and intuitive. You only have to choose the vibration mode and then press Start.
We’ve found Screwing mode to be the most fun to play with, however, all of them have their upsides.
In the Setting window, the other option you see when you turn on the app, you can set and change the 4 vibration modes you get while NOT using the app.
This is important if you’ll ever want to have a quick plug-and-play option ready.
Our experience using LELO Hugo 2
Using it alone
Starting from the very beginning of my experience, the insertion of LELO Hugo 2 was easy, even for me, a person who has not had a lot of things up my butt and is still kinda getting used to the sensation.
I used plenty of lube (PLENTY!) and with the help of the Hugo 2’s pointy tip and smooth surface, inserted the toy inside.
Once inside, the toy felt amazingly comfortable.
I explored the modes while using the toy on the lowest intensity and that showed as the best warm-up. Even during later uses, I took my time warming up to the climax hanging on the lower intensity modes. I love the rumbliness on my P-spot. It’s low-key but also in a way strong and notable.
After the initial research, I settled on the Delighted mode, and oh boy…
🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯
In Delighted mode, the perineum motor vibrates on a constant line, without any oscillations, while the prostate arm emits explosion-like rhythm. Soon after increasing the intensity, I exploded too. The mix of the constant stimulation coming from below and the powerful vibrations to my prostate resulted in a strong, pleasurable orgasm.
At the peak of vibrations, when the prostate arm ‘’exploded,’’ I felt the sensation travelling through my body. Radiating from the prostate outwards.

I also noticed, that unlike nJoy Pure Wand, LELO Hugo 2 delivers the stimulation through vibration, not as much through shape, weight = pressure.
Not a problem at all, just a difference.
During the contractions, I did have to slightly readjust the toy so it hits the sweet spot perfectly. I did not see this as a problem, just the nature of using such toy with strong vibrations.
In later plays, I orgasmed while on Thrilled vibration mode, which reminded me on the sports bike speeding up then occasionally changing gears, and then speeding up again. I also enjoyed the Exhilarated vibration mode which delivers wave-like vibrations.
The Thrilled mode got me there faster, while Exhilarated took more time. One is the way to go if you want to get it over with and the other if you want to take time pleasuring yourself. Both were fantastic.
Using the toy together
In the same manner, I jumped to the app, Leja did too. Teasing me and making me cum using an app on the phone while I have the toy inserted up my butt. I did not have to ask her twice.
We experimented with the toy in private and in public.
The private play was fun, especially as we were able to do other things while also playing with the toy. The Shaking mode was especially handy for this. The occasional Shake of the phone shook my entire being. As she saw me positively react to it, she started shaking the phone more.
The public play we tried once. Me being still new to all of the ass play, I find it more comfortable doing it in the comfort of our home. However, it did not stop us from taking LELO Hugo 2 for a walk. And that was fun in its own way. I do not find walking and receiving pleasure to be a good combination itself. Maybe a restaurant visit would be a better option. Should you decide to do so, maybe steer away from the highest setting as you might sound like a Duracell bunny and might attract some unwanted looks.
What are other experts saying?
Being a new toy, there are not many Hugo 2 reviews online, however, Reddit users found it to be strong and the majority praised the app.
Is LELO Hugo 2 loud toy?
On the highest setting, LELO Hugo 2 is noticeably loud, however, intensity setting 1-7 are quiet and those are more than enough to have you chasing stars.
How does LELO Hugo 2 compare with LELO Hugo 1?
The most notable upgrade from the first iteration is the app. The Hugo 1 was controlled with a remote, a vibrating mode, which some folks found interesting, and some were completely indifferent to the fact.
All in all, the app is seen as a significant upgrade in terms of control and practicality, and after our testing and play, I can say having the app option is amazing.
Also, according to LELO, the motors on the Hugo 2 are about 20% stronger. I have not tried Hugo 1 so I can’t confirm (nor deny) but what I can say is, that Hugo 2 is STRONG.
How to charge WeVibe Rave 2?
Charging is done via cable LELO supplies with the toy.
For 2 hours of charge, you will get 1 hour of play.
How to clean LELO Hugo 2?
Like most toys, LELO Hugo 2 can be cleaned with anti-bacterial soap and warm water. It’s best if you let it air dry afterward.
Special considerations
Weight and Handling: The toy, with its weight of 4.27 oz (121g), is lightweight and easy to handle, suitable for users who may have limited strength or dexterity in their hands. Users will need to be able to reach their anus and push the toy inside.
Ergonomic Design: Its design, including a flexible perineum arm, allows for a comfortable fit. This might be especially relevant for users with specific anatomical considerations or those new to sex toys.
Control and Accessibility: The LELO Hugo 2 features intuitive controls via a button on the toy and an accompanying mobile app. The app-enabled control can be beneficial for users with mobility limitations or those preferring a hands-free experience.
Size Considerations: With an insertable length of 2.83 inches, Hugo 2 is sized for beginners or those who prefer an average-sized toy. Users should assess their comfort with its dimensions, especially if they are new to sex toys.
Intensity of Sensation: Offering multiple vibration modes and intensities, the Hugo 2 caters to a range of preferences. Users sensitive to strong stimulation should start with gentler settings and gradually explore to find their comfort zone.
App Compatibility: For those who prefer not to handle the toy directly, the app provides an alternative means to adjust settings. This feature is particularly advantageous for users with mobility or dexterity challenges.
Final words
Usually, I would muster up some grandeur sentences and conclusions here but after my overall experience with Hugo 2, I can only say this: if you can afford it, buy it.
LELO Hugo 2 is a high-quality toy in terms of tech, build, and design that comes with an easy-to-use app that will allow for some fun, pleasurable, and 100% hands-free time.
