Review: Pink Punch Sunset Mushroom

I was never a super huge fan of mini wand vibrators or any type of vibrating clitoral toys for that matter. And if you read our reviews you already know that I always lean towards suction toys. 

But that doesn’t mean that vibrating clitoral toys aren’t good or that you shouldn’t use them if they work for you. 

It just means that I’ll be scrutinizing this little buzzing device more thoroughly than a hawk scrutinizes its prey.

I’m going to give it a thorough examination and write a review so honest that it’ll make the truth look like a compulsive liar.

But if you don’t feel like reading a bunch of details, here’s the verdict:

This little buzzing device I’m talking about is Sunset Mushroom by Pink Punch.

Pink Punch is a small company and the story they created for their brand is that the Pink Punch is a planet and Sunset Mushroom is an egg vibrator. 

Sunset Mushroom was sent to Earth to give pleasure because the dopamine we produce is the fuel that keeps Pink Punch Planet alive.  

That’s pretty cool to me, I love when products have a story behind it. Buying sex toys should be fun and exciting and reading stories like this one makes it exactly that.

First impressions

Sunset Mushroom comes in a nice and sturdy box full of pastel colors and an illustration of mushroom. But what impressed me mostly was that little thing in the box. 

Small peachy box that instantly reminded me of a space capsule. It’s very pretty and I love it. It’s made out of thick plastic and gives a high quality vibes when held. 

The capsule also acts as a wireless charging port. Once the case is charged it can charge the toy without needing a power outlet. This is very convenient when traveling.

The inside is bright yellow and it reveals a small peachy-pink mushroom with a transparent top of the head. By far the cutest mushroom I’ve ever seen.

Greetings, humans – we present to you Sunset Mushroom

3.5 inches (9 cm) long and a bit wider than 1.2 inches (3 cm) at the widest point – Sunset Mushroom is technically an egg type of clitoral vibrator. To me it looks more like a really mini wand.  

And since it comes with a silicone string that can be attached at the bottom of the toy, it can be used internally as a small vibrator or even a Kegel ball. The string is 3.7 inches (9.5 cm) long and it isn’t very stretchy. 

Mushroom, as well as a string, is made out of body-safe silicone, and it’s waterproof. 

It comes with a pink USB charger cable that charges the case. The case takes 2 hours to charge and it charges the Mushroom in 30 minutes. All of this results with around 1 hour of play.

With one button that cycles through 3 vibration speeds and 5 vibration patterns, there’s a nice variety to choose from. 

But the Pink Punch app allows for even more options

When I first saw this toy and thought about using it internally the only thing that crossed my mind was “How am I going to change the speeds?”. Well the answer is as simple as they get – Pink Punch App. 

The whole system is actually pretty cool. The app is full of neon colors and it really does look like an outer space. 

With the app you can remotely control the toy but someone else can also control it for you which makes it great for long distance relationships.

With an app there are more intensity options for every vibration mode the toy has. When sliding up and down on the screen the intensity changes and it ranges from 0 to 100. With sliding left and right the vibration modes change.

There’s also a “Lottery” mode which randomly picks a mode. 

Does Pink Punch really pack a punch?

The Mushroom head is nice and soft and it feels nice on my skin. It also carries the vibrations and it’s the part of the toy I used to play with my clitoris. 

I like that the vibrations are rumbly and I enjoy how the size of the head slides from my clitoris towards vaginal opening. It’s just big enough to stretch my entrance in a comfortable way.

When pushed inside of me it feels a bit short. Since the Mushroom is curved I was hoping it would reach my G-spot (don’t worry, I’m wearing the string). I had to push the toy quite deep inside of me but unfortunately it didn’t really do what I was hoping for. 

Additional information

This part is a novelty in our reviews and here, I’m going to try and interpret the information for folks who are often not mentioned in online reviews.

For bigger folks

To use this toy you need to be able to comfortably reach your genitals and hold it for the duration of use which may cause additional fatigue. 

For older folks

The highest vibration is pretty strong. The buttons aren’t so easy to find and push mid-use. After initial placement the toy has to be held lightly.

For folks with disabilities

I wouldn’t recommend this toy for folks who experience increased sensations because the vibrations are strong and rumbly. On the other hand, it would be a good option for folks who experience decreased sensations.

For transgender & gender-diverse folks

My wish was to include information on how this toy would work for transgender and gender-diverse folks but this is far out of my scope of knowledge, so if someone would like to pitch in, please do!

Final words

It’s been a while since I saw a toy with so much thought put into the story of it all and I was really impressed. I really like the charging case – I like how it looks and I like that it’s also usable as a charger and oh so convenient.

With the fact that the toy was so cute I was kinda skeptical about the performance, but the Sunset Mushroom didn’t fail in this area either. For a toy so small it provides strong and rumbly vibrations that are enjoyable.
