Hello sexy and welcome. We are glad to see you here.

Today, we published the 19th Q&A article and the guest is Asrai Devin.

Short and sweet – that is how I would describe this Q&A. Asrai shared some details with us, about herself and her reading and writing. I want to thank you for the tips and suggestions. Also, to our surprise, we also found out that Asrai is a gamer – awesome!

Before we continue, we would like to congratulate Asrai for being one of Kinkly’s sex blogging superheroes of 2019. Great job! 🙂

If you missed it, please check the last two Q&A’s with Anne Stagg and Deviant Succubus (or simply go to Q&A category and read all of them!)

Q&A – Asrai Devin

Hey Asrai, how is everything? We’re so glad to have you here.

Hello!! Thank you for inviting me. I am great.

Tell us a bit about yourself, who are you, what do you do?

I am Asrai Devin. I live in Canada and I write smut to keep myself warm during our long cold winters. Mostly romance, and mostly cis hetero and often with a side of BDSM.

When did you start blogging & writing?

I have always made up stories. It was a way to keep myself safe inside my mind growing up.

During my teen years, I read romance because I like a happy ending. Romance and erotica have a lot in common.

Happy endings, and emotions, and closeness. Most romance novels have a physical aspect, as humans, we like to express our likes of another person with physical things like kissing, caressing, and sex.

So some of my books are labeled erotica, and some are romance but the relationship and sex are always an aspect.

I started blogging as a writer in 2006. I moved to my current blog in 2011, for a long time I blogged inconsistently and I blogged things that no one wanted to read about.

About two years ago, I started writing short fiction on my blog as writing practice and as a way to keep people interested in my writing and lead them to my novels. Originally the plan was to write romance and relationship building. I found it difficult to build a relationship in a few thousand words, and I found that most other writing fiction were writing erotica.

And since I wrote a blend of romance and erotica, I switched to focusing on sex writing.

And I found this community of bloggers that I threw myself into. I knew from reading about marketing that the best way to promote yourself is to promote others, so I started following blogs and following all the great sex blogging community link ups. I love curating great content to share with my followers. And I love interacting with my sex writing friends.

Where can one find your erotic writing?

My books are listed here: http://asraidevin.com/asrais-books/

Medium, where my stories go before my blog https://medium.com/@asraidevin

What is your favorite story?

Favorite that I’ve read this year: Little Red by Rachel Woe on Bellesa https://www.bellesa.co/story/500/little-red

Favorite fiction book I read this year: Addict by Rachel Orman https://www.amazon.com/Addict-Rachael-Orman/dp/1505459931 (Spoiler: books two and three aren’t as strong as one, but I love Master J way too much).

Favorite I’ve written:

Novel: More Than Friends http://asraidevin.com/more-than-friends/

Short story: The Promotion http://asraidevin.com/sexy-story-the-promotion/

What do you think makes a good story?

Angst.

Every book I’ve loved this year had a push me-pull me angsty undertone that I adore. It’s not about the “will they-won’t they” of sex. It’s emotional. Are they going to be vulnerable with this person? Finding someone you can be vulnerable with, someone who makes you want to heal your would — that’s what makes it for me.

The best stories I’ve read this year had someone with a big wound, who had work really hard to get to the place where they wanted to vulnerable with their other person.

There is ‘’My reading list’’ on your blog. Can you suggest some good erotica to read?

Haha, are you sure you are ready to ask me this? I read dozens of blogs every week and have read more than one book a week this year.

I think I missed two weeks this year where I didn’t put out a Sharing our shit Saturday #soss post. So you can start there if you want what’s happening this week/month in smut. I’ve been collecting my favorite posts of the year, I don’t want to spoil that but it will be out at the end of December, maybe the beginning of January.

What do you like to do when you’re not writing?

Video games. I’m a huge gamer. I adore Bioware’s Dragon Age series because you get to have relationships with your companions.

If you do things right, you can get some hot desk action from the somewhat shy leader of your army. And it’s implied your half dragon half human companion, a race called Quanari, is into bondage and spanking. I may have written fan fiction involving one or more of those scenarios.

I read a lot.

I drive my kids around to their various activities.

Do you want to share any other useful links with our readers?

Follow me on Twitter because it’s the only major social media network that hasn’t yet cracked down on sex, but I am shadow banned from the search if you are not logged in.
